DAY 7 - Part 1. Great walk Lanzarote - La Graciosa: Ecohouse (La Corona Natural Monument) - Órzola
2h (2h 15 in movement) 8,3 km +240m / -50m
After 6 days traveling Lanzarote from south to north, today, the seventh day, we finished the journey on this island! See previous day, Hiking Route Lanzarote – La Graciosa: Day 6
As always, we get up early, prepare breakfast and enjoy the sunrise from the dining room with fantastic views of the mountains and the coast, it’s a privilege!
At 8.15am we started today’s walk. The day gets up very beautiful and sunny, unlike the day before !!

Starting the day through the volcanic badlands of Monte Corona
We leave the house and take the track to the right, but very little, in about 20 meters we turn left to take a small path that makes narro and finally fades, so we keep walking without a path along the “rofe”.

Advancing with no visible path
We pass next to a cave and an abandoned house that is a bit elevated, we go up to it and we see that a little further down there is a dirt road, so we go down the rofe on the other side until take the track we wanted.

Jameo de Prendes volcanic cave
This path passes through the volcanic badlands of the North, the one in the Monte Corona area. It is very beautiful, it reminds us a bit of the badlands landscape of the Timanfaya National Park, which we crossed walking on day 2 of our hiking trip, although different, this is older and therefore more lichens and vegetation appear than at the “younger” Timanfata National Park.

We go down, sometimes we see giant blocks of volcanic stone, bombs, impressive and some with orange lichens.

And so we move forward until we reach the LZ-204 road that we take very little, to the left towards Ye, until we find a GR path sign on the right. We take this path. We already see Orzola!

We go along the GR for approximately 1 km until after some aloe vera plantations we take another path that seems to go along a dry riverbed, sometimes we take a path parallel to the dry river that is more comfortable to walk, and so on until arrive in Orzola at 10:30 a.m. in the morning.

We go to a supermarket that is at the entrance of the town and after we go to the Lineas Romero ferry.
We take the ferry at 11:00 am. During the ferry trip, we skirt the Famara cliff, we see El Risco beach and the salt lakes and in about 20/30 minutes we are in La Graciosa.
Once in Caleta de Sebo we stop by the diving center La Graciosa (we will be diving the next few days with them) to drop off everything we won’t need to reduce the weight of the backpack since we go now to do the second excursion of the day, the south section of La Graciosa hiking route. This afternoon we will come back to sleep in Caleta de Sebo so we’ll take our things then.
