Description
Lanzarote and the Chinijo archipelago (La Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Alegranza) are a group of islands located northeast of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, off the African coast.
Since 2015, they have been part of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, places where you can enjoy a geological heritage of international relevance, such as the Timanfaya eruption, which occurred between 1730 and 1736. Here it is not only possible to observe the geological wonders but also all the biodiversity of flora and fauna of these ecosystems, so varied

Tremensna walk, Timanfaya National Park
The spectacular natural and human landscape of these islands, together with their traditional uses and customs, will really make us enjoy a unique environment.

Charca verde, el Golfo
This trekking is an alternative route to the great route that already exists on the island: the GR-131 trail that begins in Órzola and ends in Playa Blanca.
Our proposal is wilder, trying to go through the most emblematic, beautiful and lonely natural sites of the island, from south to north. We will finish in Órzola, where we will take the ferry to Graciosa to finish our great journey on this other island.

useful information
- Water management, since there are no water sources, we will only find water in the towns.
- Between Yaiza and Mancha Blanca there is the longest section without the possibility of finding any population or buying drinking water (about 35km). We spent the night bivouac in Las Malvas becah so we had to think about taking more water to be able to spend the night and the next morning.
- Between Yaiza and the Gulf the route is by road, the only asphalt section of the route of about 5km (we did not find any alternative).
- Use of GPS highly recommended, we will go through unmarked trails and the possibility of having fog as in the Famara cliff.
- Use high cut boots, to prevent stones from entering our shoes and also hiking sticks.
Warnings
This route crosses through irregular and arid terrain. Trekking experience, self-sufficiency and use of GPS is required.
Route made in September 2020. Take this guide only as a reference, since the paths can change over time.
